Austin Mime Theatre produces original performance pieces, from solo and duet numbers to full-length mime dramas. Continuing and building upon the traditions of Marcel Marceau, Etienne Decroux, and Stefan Niedzialkowski, we create poetry in motion, whether it is a single body on stage, or a full fledged multimedia theatrical exploration. We educate and spread awareness about the art of mime while breaking stereotypes; we ain't no ordinary mimes. No white face or mime stuck in a box with us!
AMT offers workshops, artist residencies, and performs for corporate and special events.

Meet the Company

Mel TP was born in Monterrey, Mexico; with a degree in stage drama from the University of Kent at Madrid, Spain where she specialized in Mime, Gesture Theatre and Clown with Jose Piris, Marcel Marceau's direct disciple. She is also Co-founder of the "School of Gesture Theatre Nouveau Colombier" in Spain. Now she is Enjoying Austin and pursuing her passion.
Amelia has lived and worked all over the country, finally settling down in Austin. She has been performing since age 10, and continues to act, direct, produce, create and collaborate. She holds a BA in Theatre from College of Santa Fe, and has continued her theater education across the US, including the American Shakespeare Center. She founded Biophiliac Collective, LLC in 2007, and works as an acting and yoga teacher, and a mime. She is grateful for breath, movement, and AMT.
Michael (Artistic Director) directs and performs in plays, festivals, trade shows, industrial films and TV commercials across the US, as well as coaching olympic ice dancers. Michael studied acting, dance, clown and mime with masters from around the world, including Polish mime Stefan Niedzialkowski and the world renowned Marcel Marceau. He attended the International School For Theatre Anthropology in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is a graduate of the Spacial Dynamics Institute in New York.
Kyle is currently a Theater/English Major at UT. Favorite roles include George Bailey (It's a Wonderful Life), Curly (Oklahoma!) and his recent participation in Kirk Lynn's new play, 100 Gun Deaths at UT. His training with Michael Lee began in 2007, appearing in his original mime drama, This, Uh, Body which was performed at State and International Thespian Festival. Kyle loves living in Austin and is extremely grateful for the friends, family, and the many blessings God has provided him
